SUNSHINE COAST CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL – COMING SOON!

Anticipation is already mounting for the very first Sunshine Coast Chamber Music Festival to present nine incredible live performances in our region’s most breath-taking spaces and places this June!

The innovative festival will immerse audiences in the sounds of live music set to excite, soothe, connect, challenge and inspire, showcasing dynamic Australian and local artists weaving music, storytelling, dance and song together against dramatic and innovative backdrops.

Louise King the Artistic Director has curated a festival program around the theme of Festival’s Distance + Intimacy | Hope + Regeneration and each event is designed to celebrate the regions natural and ancient landscapes through artistic collaboration, cultural exchange and evocative music.

Concerts will be held across the region, including at the natural amphitheatre of the Sculpture Gardens in the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens, by the river under the stars at Cotton Tree, in historic hinterland halls with soaring acoustics and, of course, at the Kings Theatre, The Events Centre.

The Festival will reach a crescendo on Saturday 19 June 2021 with the Chamber Music Gala,  ‘Songs of Sky, Bush & Moon’, in a night of glamour and sophistication featuring three headline artists  Eric Avery a Ngiyampaa, Yuin, Bandjalang and Gumbangirr artist, songman, violinist and composer,  Karin Schaupp classical guitar, international soloist and Sofia Troncoso soprano OQ Principal Artist.

Tickets are limited and will go on sale soon.

A significant aim of the Festival is also to support the arts community at a very challenging time, providing stages for them to celebrate classical music for avid audiences. Every ticket will count towards reigniting our arts scene and supporting talented regional artists.

Tickets will be limited and are expected to sell out quickly for each of the nine festival events. You can keep updated about ticket sales, program information and news online and we recommend joining the mailing list at sccmf.com.au today!
