Award-winning play comes to Caloundra!

A sell-out of Queensland Theatre’s 2023 Season and winner of the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award 2022-23, Drizzle Boy launches its Queensland regional tour later in the year with Sunshine Coast residents being the first to witness the opening performance.

Audiences will warm to the charming and witty coming of age story as Drizzle Boy experiences university and falling in love for the first time and, his parents (Emily Burton and Kevin Spink), adapt to his burgeoning independence. More than a journey of self-discovery, Drizzle Boy is a window into what it is like to see the world differently. If you’ve seen the film Rain Man, Drizzle Boy will strike a chord in your heart, beautifully played by neurodivergent actor Daniel Nixon.

The Events Centre CEO, Bronwyn Edinger is delighted to see Queensland Theatre return to the Centre.

“This is such an exciting win for us, Queensland Theatre are the leaders in professional theatre, and we are so excited to present such an entertaining and moving experience, while opening the conversation around difference in our community,” said Edinger.

Get ready for a deeply moving and enlightening rocket ride! Don’t miss this exciting chance to see Queensland Theatre return to the Coast for one night only.
