The Events Centre, Caloundra is the Sunshine Coast’s premier performing arts and conference centre. Be inspired by the diverse conferences, events, venue and hospitality services on offer. Be entertained by the kaleidoscope of concerts, music, dance, plays and shows for all ages.

The Events Centre is one of the largest function centres on the coast with fine dining, high tech staging and equipment for large and small dinners, awards nights, conferences, theatre and special events. The venue has two theatres and dining spaces for over 1,000 patrons.

Casual Kitchen Hand

Casual

The Event Centre, Caloundra is seeking a Kitchen hand who enjoys working in a fast-moving kitchen. In this role, the Kitchen hand will be responsible for cleaning duties and assisting the chefs with meal preparation. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Casual loading of 23%

 

To be successful in this role you will have/be: 

  • Availability to work across a seven-day roster
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability and commitment to uphold high standards of work

The Events Centre is a world-class entertainment venue, right here on the Sunshine Coast.  Year round hosting a wide variety of live music, corporate and performing arts events.

We have a range of ongoing opportunities available for people with live production skills, experience, and a passion for delivering great experiences for both visitors and customers of the Centre.

Can you:

  • Mix audio for live music, theatre, and corporate events?
  • Operate vision, streaming and projection equipment?
  • Control lighting systems, with moving lights, for concerts?
  • Setup, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment?

If you have some school or amateur experience in live production and are serious about getting involved in live production, we’d love to hear from you too.

As is the nature of work in the entertainment industry, you would need to be willing and able to work unusual hours and weekends, have a great sense of humor, as well as being willing and able to lift and carry.

Volunteer

Volunteer at The Events Centre, Caloundra to support our creative and business endeavours, providing exceptional services and experiences to the local community. Join us to learn new skills, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and gain insight into how The Events Centre operates.

As a volunteer you can become a front of house usher, help with food and beverage services, lend a hand as a meet and greet team member or immerse yourself in the fine arts from world-class music and arts performances to local productions, school performances, graduations, conferences and more.

Volunteers lend a hand at performances and events as a meet and greet team member, assisting with QR Code Check-ins and some cleaning duties in line with our Covid-19 Safety Plan.

Volunteers can earn points that may be redeemed for tickets and other exclusive volunteer incentives. Complete the form and return via email to events@theeventscentre.com.au or drop off at The Events Centre, Caloundra.
