Role

We’re looking for a Kitchen Hand/Cook to support our kitchen operations with a focus on high-quality food preparation and presentation. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Hours

Our business is event‑driven, which requires flexibility in your availability to work both day and evening shifts. Although not every weekend has events, providing Weekend availability is also essential for this role.

Main Duties:

  • Assist with food prep, cooking, and presentation according to our standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including dishwashing, cleaning, and equipment storage.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Learn various cooking techniques under the guidance of our senior chefs.
  • Help with inventory management and kitchen support tasks.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Education or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
  • Basic cooking knowledge
  • A current QLD food safety certificate.
  • Strong interest in a culinary career and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good communication skills and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Marketing Coordinator

The Events Centre is seeking an energetic and passionate Marketing Coordinator who is looking to make their mark on Sunshine Coast’s leading performing arts centre – where arts, entertainment and events come alive!

The Marketing Coordinator will be a key player in the planning and implementation of the overall marketing campaigns for The Events Centre with core responsibilities around advertising, media partnerships, paid and organic social media, campaign management and client services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement powerful and cost-effective marketing campaigns and materials to build brand awareness and drive audience attendance
  • Liaise and provide digital and traditional marketing support for a wide range of promoter events
  • Support the department through activities like reporting, collateral creation, and proofing and editing.

Our Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a creative problem solver who is a campaign management master, social media natural, great communicator, excellence driven and has experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patrons. We are looking for individuals who can work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and both daytime and evening hours.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in bar work and cash handling.
  • Ability to carry plates in a banquet environment.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and both daytime and evening hours.
  • Barista experience is highly desirable.

Volunteer at The Events Centre, Caloundra to support our creative and business endeavours, providing exceptional services and experiences to the local community. Join us to learn new skills, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and gain insight into how The Events Centre operates.

As a volunteer you can become a front of house usher, help with food and beverage services, lend a hand as a meet and greet team member or immerse yourself in the fine arts from world-class music and arts performances to local productions, school performances, graduations, conferences and more.
