The Events Centre Caloundra is the region’s leading performing arts venue, bringing theatre, music, comedy, festivals and community events to life. We’re a welcoming, energetic place where people come together to connect, celebrate and be entertained.

We’re currently looking for friendly, reliable Ticketing Attendants to join our Box Office and Theatre Hire team on a casual basis.

About the role

As a Ticketing Attendant, you’ll be one of the first faces (and voices) our patrons meet. You’ll help customers book tickets, answer questions, solve problems and feel welcome from the moment they connect with us.

Based at the Box Office and Reception, this role is a great fit for someone who loves customer service, enjoys a busy environment and is happy juggling a mix of people, systems and numbers – all while events are happening around you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Selling tickets and assisting customers in person, over the phone, by email and online
  • Providing warm, professional and helpful customer service
  • Handling enquiries and resolving ticketing issues with care and confidence
  • Processing daily box office reconciliations and cash handling
  • Providing reception support and general admin tasks
  • Assisting with CRM data, reports and patron communications
  • Opening and closing the box office and building when required

About you

You’re organised, approachable and enjoy helping people. You stay calm under pressure, pay attention to detail and take pride in doing things properly.

You’ll bring:

  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence using computer systems
  • Experience handling cash and reconciling takings (a bonus)
  • Ticketing or box office experience (desirable, but not essential)
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy event periods

With two state-of-the-art performing arts theatres and a range of meeting spaces, the Events Centre is the Sunshine Coast’s top spot for all things arts, entertainment, and community fun. Managed by Sunshine Coast Events Centre Pty Ltd, we’re all about creating amazing experiences and building a dynamic, values-driven team.

Role

We’re looking for a Kitchen Hand/Cook to support our kitchen operations with a focus on high-quality food preparation and presentation. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Hours

Our business is event‑driven, which requires flexibility in your availability to work both day and evening shifts. Although not every weekend has events, providing Weekend availability is also essential for this role.

Main Duties:

  • Assist with food prep, cooking, and presentation according to our standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including dishwashing, cleaning, and equipment storage.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Learn various cooking techniques under the guidance of our senior chefs.
  • Help with inventory management and kitchen support tasks.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Education or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
  • Basic cooking knowledge
  • A current QLD food safety certificate.
  • Strong interest in a culinary career and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good communication skills and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

From hosting cultural events and conventions to delivering exceptional entertainment experiences, our venue is at the heart of the Sunshine Coast’s vibrant arts and entertainment scene.

Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patrons. We are looking for individuals who can work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and both daytime and evening hours.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in bar work and cash handling.
  • Ability to carry plates in a banquet environment.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and both daytime and evening hours.
  • Barista experience is highly desirable.

Volunteer at The Events Centre, Caloundra to support our creative and business endeavours, providing exceptional services and experiences to the local community. Join us to learn new skills, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and gain insight into how The Events Centre operates.

As a volunteer you can become a front of house usher, help with food and beverage services, lend a hand as a meet and greet team member or immerse yourself in the fine arts from world-class music and arts performances to local productions, school performances, graduations, conferences and more.
